The Council of Representatives chose Viljo Vuorimäki as the Chair of the Executive Board for the year 2023.
Viljo is a 21-year-old political science and sociology major from Espoo, but he has lived and studied in Brussels for many years. On his free-time Viljo likes to play football, go the gym, and attend student events.
“I thank the Council of Representatives for the trust! It is my great pleasure and honor to lead the LYY’s executive board next year. My goal is to be an honest and fair leader”, comments Viljo on his election.
This past year Viljo has overseen internationality and responsibility in the LYY Board. His duties included, among other things, the relaunch of the Arctic 5 Students’ Team, and integration of international degree-students and exchange students.
“This past year has taught me a lot and I hope to utilize this knowledge as the chair of the board. We will have to work hard on students’ wellbeing and community spirit next year.”
The Council of Representatives elected Katariina Leinonen, Nuutti Saramo, Roope Rantala and Helmi Lyly to the Executive Board. The Council also decided that the board should have 6 members, so Viljo will have to make his suggestions for the remaining 2 members in the next representative council meeting.
“Please let me know if you are interested. But please note that working the executive board requires fluent skills in Finnish!”
If you wish to apply, please contact Viljo as soon as possible before the next meeting on December 13: viljo.vuorimaki@lyy.fi.
