Doctoral student, did you know that you can join the Student Union? Membership is optional for doctoral students, but it offers many benefits. You can join at any point during the academic year.

As a member of the Student Union, you can download a green digital student ID card, for example, on Tuudo. You are eligible for nationwide student offers and other student discounts, such as admission tickets or restaurant meals. In addition, starting January 1, 2024, graduate students have been eligible for a discount on VR train tickets by showing a valid student ID. As a member, you also gain access to other Student Union services, such as the sauna at member rates and legal aid.

As a doctoral student, you are not eligible for the following services: Kela meal subsidies, YTHS services, and Matkahuolto’s student discounts on public transportation.

Membership fee for the 2026–2027 academic year

Full academic year total: 39.00 euros

Fall semester: 30.00 euros

Spring semester: 31.00 euros
