LYY and ROTKO Publish Their Parliamentary Election Programme for 2027

The Student Union of the University of Lapland (LYY) and the Student Union of Lapland University of Applied Sciences (ROTKO) have published their joint Parliamentary Election Programme for 2027. The programme’s central message is that a sustainable future is built by investing in students’ well-being, education, and regional vitality.

The programme highlights the need to strengthen students’ financial security, ensure access to affordable housing, and improve higher education funding. It also calls for better student welfare services, an expanded therapy guarantee, and stronger support for the employment and integration of international students in Finland.

According to LYY and ROTKO, higher education institutions play a key role in enabling development, expertise, and growth in Northern Finland. The election programme will serve as the foundation for the organisations’ advocacy work in the lead-up to the 2027 parliamentary elections.
