Candidates from the Student Union of the University of Lapland, Katariina Henttonen and Elina Kuula, have been elected to the Board of the National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL) for 2022. The federal meeting held a vote on board members on Saturday night.
“I am incredibly happy and grateful for the trust. It is great to be able to speak on behalf of students at the national level next year and to make an impact, among other things, on the well-being and livelihood of students, which is a matter of my heart.” Henttonen commented.
“I am also grateful for the trust placed in the student movement. SYL’s board is at the heart of student advocacy. We will be able to work in the field of parliamentary influence and defend education and culture in the post-corona society. ” Kuula says.
Konstantin Kouzmitchev (AYY) was elected Chair of the Board.

The general meeting elects SYL’s board and decides on the union’s operations in 2022. The National Union of University Students in Finland represents more than 130,000 university students.
