Heartful congratulations on the study place in Rovaniemi! Getting your own apartment is at its height right now: remember that DAS has a continuous application period. Apartments become available throughout the year, and we offer them forward for applicants daily. You can send an application even if your enrolment is not yet confirmed, and new students and floating applications have priority to receive an offer for apartments becoming available in the beginning of August and September. You can also search for your own apartment through, for example, LYY’s website or Facebook groups.

However, if you need temporary accommodation, here is the most important information about it:

• Temporary accommodation will be available between August 12 and September 27, 2024.

• Temporary accommodation is booked at LYY’s Ahkiomaantie office, where you get the key and where you also pay for the accommodation. The key is also returned to LYY’s office.

• Those staying take their own sleeping bags or blankets and pillows and sheets with them, as well as the towels, dishes, etc. they need, so LYY or DAS do not provide such supplies.

• There are separate accommodation facilities for men and women. The premises have a refrigerator and a stove. The shower and toilet are located next to the house’s sauna.

• The price of accommodation is €12/day. The payment is binding and non-refundable, even if the need for temporary accommodation is shorter than anticipated.

• For laundry, temporary accommodation residents have their own laundry shifts.

Please note that LYY’s office is closed in July, and therefore we do not deal with temporary accommodation matters at that time. LYY’s service and administration specialist Joel Liukkonen (hallinto@lyy.fi) is responsible for LYY’s temporary accommodation and will be at work again on August 5.
