Are you interested in working on the Board of the National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL)? Here you can find all the information you need for applying and becoming LYY’s candidate.

The Board of the National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL) for 2025 will be elected at the General Assembly on 15–16 November 2024. Six members and the President will be elected. Delegates elected by the student unions will vote on the Board at the General Assembly. All delegates with voting rights can nominate candidates for the Board and President.

Student unions usually choose their candidates for SYL’s board and president in their student council meetings. LYY’s Council of Representative will choose LYY’s candidates on 25 September.

Board work is full-time and requires living in the Helsinki metropolitan area.

If you are interested in becoming LYY’s candidate, please apply by sending your application to hakemukset@lyy.fi. The application period ends on 10 September 12 PM.

September

• Application period for becoming LYY’s candidate ends on 10 September at 12 PM.
• Presentation to the Council of Representatives on 12 September.
• Short presentation of candidates or prospective candidates at the SYL Fall seminar on 19–20 September.
• The meeting of Council of Representatives on 25 September.

November

• Election of Board members at the General Assembly.
