The highest decision-making power in the Student Union is exercised by the 20-member Representative Council, or RepCo, which is elected every two years and meets approximately once a month, except during the summer months. Each year, the Representative Council decides on matters such as the guidelines for LYY’s activities, the annual budget and action plan, and membership fees. The Representative Council also elects the executive body, i.e. the LYY Board, and makes the final decision on the election of the Secretary General.

The meetings are open to all LYY members and are announced on the student union’s website, among other places. The term of the current Representative Council lasts until the end of November 2025.

Representative Council Elections

The next RepCo elections will be held in autumn 2027. Any eligible LYY member can run for RepCo. As a representative, you will have a real say in the activities of the student union, learn the noble art of decision-making, and discover many new and interesting things that will surely benefit you in your career!
