The Student Union of the University of Lapland (LYY) has approved its new strategy for 2025–2027. The updated guidelines emphasize community, impact, and sustainable operations. The strategy aims to offer students the most enjoyable and meaningful years of their studies, build a community where everyone is welcome as they are, and strengthen local advocacy in Lapland.
Key focus areas include high-quality tutoring, the development of the Wellbeing Pass services, improving accessibility, and ensuring students’ housing and internship opportunities in Rovaniemi. The implementation of the strategy will be monitored with indicators that are reviewed every two years.
A strategy working group was appointed to prepare the updated strategy during 2025. The group held a public hearing on 10 November, giving students the opportunity to comment on the draft. Feedback could also be submitted via a Forms questionnaire until 13 November.
