At the Spring Flea Market, you can come find treasures from items and clothes that others no longer need! All university students in Rovaniemi are welcome to sign up as sellers. More information can be found on LYY’s Instagram feed.
April 16th–May 1st – RöllöWappu 2025
Welcome to celebrate the biggest student event of the year with us! This year, RöllöWappu shines brightly with the glamour of the movie world, featuring over thirty different events! Stay tuned on April 1st when we release the full program on RöllöWappu’s official Instagram account @rollowappu!

Past events
Students’ Shrove (Laskiaisrieha)
LYY organized the second event of the Students’ Shrove in collaboration with Artikla, ESN Lapland, Lapikas, and Kosmos Buran. The program included kyykkä (a traditional Finnish game) at Susivouti Field during the day and Après Ski-themed sits in the evening. The beautiful weather and great company made the day unforgettable! The event was made possible by DAS!
Other matters
LYY at the Arctic Pride Parade
LYY’s board participated in the Arctic Pride Parade on March 22nd! LYY led the student organizations’ block, marching at the front alongside student associations, the student union ROTKO, and other student organizations. Hundreds of people joined the parade and the atmosphere was amazing!
LYY at the Periphery Meeting
LYY took part in the Periphery Student Union Meeting hosted by the Student Union of the University of Vaasa (VYY) on March 13–14. The board members had the chance to explore Vaasa and discuss current topics with their counterparts from other student unions.
Municipal and Regional Elections Panels and Fairs
LYY, in collaboration with ROTKO, organized municipal and regional election panels and election fairs. Don’t forget to vote! Voting advance in Finland takes place from April 2nd to 8th and for Finnish citizens abroad from April 2nd to 6th. Election day is on the 13th of April.
“LYYtiset” on Radio Säteily
LYY’s radio show LYYtiset, which covers student union activities, advocacy, and student organization news, is taking part in Radio Säteily’s spring programming! Tune in to catch interesting topics on Friday, April 18th from 9:00–10:00, and Tuesdays April 22nd and 29th from 14:00–15:00.
Meeting with Laky Oy
LYY’s board met with the board of Laky Oy, an investment company mainly owned by LYY, on March 6th.
Meeting with the Vice-Rector for Research
On March 10th, LYY’s board met with Sari Lindblom, the new Vice-Rector for Research of the University of Lapland, who started in her position at the beginning of 2025.
LYY celebrated ISYY’s 15th anniversary!
The Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland celebrated its 15th anniversary, and LYY joined the festivities to offer congratulations. Congratulations ISYY!
LYY celebrated JYY’s 91st anniversary!
The Student Union of the University of Jyväskylä turned an impressive 91 years old, and LYY was there to join the celebration. Congratulations JYY!
