The Executive Board of the Student Union of the University of Lapland (LYY) has decided to open project grants for free application. Project grants can be awarded for a total of 2000 €. With the grants, LYY strives to develop Lapland’s student culture and promote the well-being of students.
Project grants can be applied for all types of project activities, be it activities related to studies or are aimed at leisure time, ideas, or events. The prerequisite is that the project considers all members of the student union and international students at the University of Lapland. The project must also be implemented in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner.
The Lapland University Consortium, student union ROTKO and the student union LYY have received a special grant from the Ministry of Education and Culture (OKM) for a project that supports students’ community and well-being. This year, half of the grant budget will come from the financing of this OKM project, and therefore at least 1000 € of the project grants will be allocated specifically to projects that promote well-being.
The project grant can be applied for both by associations and organizations operating within the student union and by individuals or groups. Therefore, receiving a project grant does not require a registered association! The project grant is not granted for the basic activities of the association – for this purpose there is a separate basic grant, the distribution of which has already been decided for 2022.
Application process
Applications must be submitted no later than 12:00 noon on 16 May 2022. Late applications will not be taken into consideration!
Applications will be processed during May. The Executive Board makes decisions on the distribution of grants and the amounts. If necessary, the Board may invite applicants to interviews in more detail about their projects. The beneficiary agrees to submit a final report on the use of the funds. The Executive Board has the right to recover the grant if it considers that the grant has not been used correctly. Late receipts will not be reimbursed.
The grant is to be used during 2022.
