Our customer service point at F-wing is closed for the time being.
If you need our services a meeting at the Student Union’s office (Ahkiomaantie 23B) can be agreed in advance. The office is closed for most of July.

Rector’s Morning Coffee webinar
Antti Syväjärvi, Rector of the University of Lapland, invites you for a Rector’s Morning Coffee webinar on Wednesday 10 June 2020. The session will start at 8:30 am and it last for an hour.
The morning coffee session provides space for discussing topical issues of the University. Please, send your questions on Monday 8 June at 3:00 pm at the latest. Please note that the main language of the event is Finnish, but questions can be sent also in English.
You can send your questions and comments anonymously, under a pseudonym, or with your own name. You may also ask questions ad-lib during the session.
The link to join the webinar will be informed via email and in the event section of the intranet before the webinar.
LYY Communication survey
LYY would like to invite you to answer our new survey! The survey is intended to gather information about the effectiveness of the Student Union of the University of Lapland (LYY) communication. The data will be used to improve LYY’s communication. The survey is anonymous.
Summer studies
Did you know that you can also study during the summer?
Consortium studies (LUC) – a shared supply of studies for the students of the universities of Lapland. Degree students of the universities of the Lapland University Consortium (Lapland UAS, University of Lapland) can take courses offered by the other member university. The available studies are basic studies and Open University studies. You can find the studies in Weboodi.
For degree students it is possible to study courses from other Universities online. The available studies can be found on this website.
Student benefits during the summer
Students can get financial aid in the summer, provided that they will be studying during the summer months. Financial aid is granted for example for lecture courses, set book exams, on-the-job-training or for working on your final project or thesis. Financial aid for the summer months is available in the form of study grant and government guarantee for student loans.

LYY’s Educational and Social Affairs during the summer
The contract of LYY’s Adviser of Educational and Social Affairs substitute Aatu Puhakka ends 31.5.2020. The Adviser of Educational and Social Affairs Antti Eteläaho will return to his duties in August 2020.
During the summer you can contact the Chair of the Board Esa-Pekka Tuppi on matters regarding educational and social affairs, at puheenjohtaja(at)lyy.fi, 045 137 9026.
LYY’s summer pals
If youare spending your summer in Rovaniemi and looking for something to do, join LYY’s summer pals!
The group is meant for students spending their summer in Rovaniemi. In the group you can set up remote hang outs or whatever you like to do in the summer, with safety in mind of course!

You can register your own event to LYY’s website! Adding your event to our website is fast and easy, and it lets everybody see your event straight away on LYY’s website. When you register your event remember that they have to be open for everyone – unless you want loads of gatecrashers.

Rent LYY’s Sauna for your parties
The Student Union’s Sauna is available for renting. If you are a member of the Student Union of the University of Lapland, the renting costs you 100 euros / night. For non-members the price from Sunday to Thursday is 150 euros / night and from Friday to Saturday 200 euros / night.
