Special arrangements extended in the University of Lapland
The Finnish Government has decided to continue restrictions until the 13th of May. This means that the restriction regarding the University of Lapland will also continue until 13.5.2020. The University is prepared to continue the emergency arrangements until the end of the spring term if necessary.

Student lunch during the pandemic
Students eligible for subsidised meals can now buy their student lunch to-go and for 2 days at a time. A student may also buy up to 2 takeaway meals for a fellow student who is unable to visit the restaurant themselves because of coronavirus symptoms.
When buying subsidised meals you will need to prove your eligibility by presenting a student card. If buying for someone else, you will need to present their card also.
This arrangement will continue until the end of May, unless studying returns to normal and restrictions are lifted before then.
#studentsstrongtogether
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, student organizations and Finland’s unique student culture face big challenges. LYY is taking part in the #studentsstrongtogether campaign with Kide.app and many student organizations. The purpose of the campaign is to save the traditional student culture despite of the current pandemic situation.
You can do your part by buying an overall badge from Kide.app at. The badge costs 5€ and you can decide, if you want to support a certain organization or if you want the profits to be shared between all the participating organizations. LYY wants to support especially the Lappish student organizations and doesn’t accept any profits from the sold badges. However, you can support for instance, your own subject association!
#studentsstrongtogether, now and always.
Apply to be an international tutor!
The application period for becoming an international tutor has been extended.
The student tutor guides the new students to their new university and Rovaniemi, gives advice and tutors the students in studying along with different issues about student life. Tutors also earn little money and they get study credits.
