The representative council elections are approaching, and the student union is accepting election documents until October 7. Are you considering running as a candidate, but don’t have a suitable list or are unsure about your voting rights? We’ve gathered a few important things to keep in mind before filling out the documents!
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO STAND AS A CANDIDATE?
All students with the right to vote are eligible. Attach the required appendices to the electoral association’s candidate notification. You must complete one appendix for each candidate of the association. Submit the election documents of your electoral association or alliance to the Central Election Committee. The documents must be delivered in a sealed envelope to the Student Union office no later than 7 October 2025 at 15:00.
WHERE CAN I FIND THE ELECTION DOCUMENTS?
The election documents are available in the document bank on LYY’s website. NOTE: The documents can only be found from Finnish website in Finnish.
HOW MANY FOUNDING MEMBERS DOES AN ELECTORAL ASSOCIATION NEED?
An electoral association must have two founding members.
CAN A FOUNDING MEMBER OF AN ELECTORAL ASSOCIATION ALSO ACT AS ITS REPRESENTATIVE?
Yes. It is also possible to appoint a representative who is not one of the founding members, but this is not required.
