The Student Union of the University of Lapland (LYY) grants its members both autumn semester stickers and full semester stickers for physical student cards. You can get a sticker for your card at the LYY service point in the F-wing of the University of Lapland or by appointment at the LYY office in Ahkiomaantie.
The sticker can only be applied directly to the student card, i.e. we cannot, for example, mail a sticker alone. The student must also be able to prove his/her up-to-date student status at the time the sticker is issued.
Despite our requests, we have not been granted the right to check the student status in the Peppi environment used by the University of Lapland. Therefore, the Student Union currently only knows the student’s membership fee status, but not the necessary information about the student’s status at the time the sticker is issued.
Therefore, in order to obtain a sticker, the student must provide proof of up-to-date student status either:
- By showing a valid digital student card, for example in the Tuudo application.
- Showing a student certificate downloaded from the Peppi platform for the date in question.
LYY apologises for the situation, and we hope our members will be patient and understanding of circumstances beyond our control. The semester sticker indicates student status, to which only students in attendance are entitled. For example, student status ends upon graduation. The sticker allows students to benefit from, among other things, Kela meal subsidies, so student unions have a duty to be extremely careful about who is eligible for socially subsidised services.
