The representative council elections are approaching, and the student union is accepting election documents until October 7. Are you considering running as a candidate, but don\u2019t have a suitable list or are unsure about your voting rights? We\u2019ve gathered a few important things to keep in mind before filling out the documents!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All students with the right to vote are eligible. To be eligible to vote, a student must have registered as present at the University of Lapland no later than 15 September 2025 and must be a personally present member of the Student Union. You can check your voting eligibility at the LYY office (Ahkiomaantie 23 B) between 22\u201324 September 2025 from 8:00 to 16:00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fill in the candidate notification form of the electoral association. The form must include the name of your electoral association, its founding members, the representative agent, and the candidates. If you are forming an electoral alliance together with another electoral association, fill in the electoral alliance agreement. The agreement must state the name of the alliance, the participating electoral associations, and their representative agents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Attach the required appendices to the electoral association\u2019s candidate notification. You must complete one appendix for each candidate of the association. Submit the election documents of your electoral association or alliance to the Central Election Committee. The documents must be delivered in a sealed envelope to the Student Union office no later than 7 October 2025 at 15:00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An electoral association must have two founding members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
