The Council of Representatives of The Student\u2019s Union of University of Lapland (LYY) has decided in their meeting on 12th<\/sup> of September, to nominate Julia Rapo as a presidential candidate for the National Union of University Students for the year 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Julia Rapo<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rapo, 24, is a student in the Art Education program and an active participant in the student community. Her passion towards high quality and sustainable art and science education can be seen in her participation in different work groups and student organizations. Rapo aspires to become the president of SYL in order to advance the students’ voice on a national level. Julia believes that supporting the quality of education and equality should be central themes during the upcoming term. She is firmly committed to building a better future for all students.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Julia is described as a warm-hearted and energetic team player, who takes on challenges with passion. Her friends describe her as a reliable and brave person who inspires others to achieve common goals. Julia is known for her ability to bring joy and creativity to all her work, and she strongly believes that a positive attitude brings the best possible outcome for success. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rapo has been an active member of the student community from her first year as a student. She has broad experience of student culture, and she is a familiar face among work groups focused on improving the quality of education. At the moment, Rapo acts as a Vice-chair of The Executive Board of LYY and as a member of uJunnu work group.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

National Union of University Students (SYL)<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

SYL elects next year\u2019s board at the general assembly in Tampere on 17th<\/sup> \u2013 18th<\/sup> of November. SYL represents Finnish university students on the national level and promotes their interests. The Student Union of The University of Lapland is represented in the general assembly of 2023 by a delegation of five persons and two alternate members: Representative Kuula, Service and Administration Specialist Liukkonen, The Chair of The Excecutive Board Vuorim\u00e4ki, Representative Isotalo, The Chair of the Council of Representatives H\u00e4yh\u00e4 and the alternate members Secretary General Ker\u00e4nen and Vice-chair of The Executive Board Rapo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
