Sitsit is an academic three-course dinner party with a long tradition. Students gather around the tables to drink, eat, sing drinking songs, socialize and be merry together. There is arranged seating, toastmasters leading the dinner and rules to follow which give sitsit its unique atmosphere. Usually each sitsit is themed and you should dress up accordingly.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember to eat well before arriving as despite sitsit being a dinner party, food plays only a minor part of the sitsit. You are welcome to bring your own extra drinks.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rules for sitsit:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Always be on time when sitsit starts and when coming back after breaks. Being late is considered as very disrespectful behaviour and leads to punishments.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The toastmasters are your Rulers for sitsit. Respect them by stopping your conversations when you hear the bell ring and listen and do what they tell you to do. Otherwise prepare to be punished.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remember to behave respectfully towards the other guests. At any time when someone is speaking, be quiet and respectful towards them.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No throwing of foods and drinks or any other items at the venue and no building of can towers. People breaking this rule will be asked to leave the sitsit venue.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are not allowed to leave your place before the permission is given by the toastmasters. Not even for the toilet. (There are specific bathroom breaks during sitsit.)&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Singing is an important part of a sitsit, so everyone is expected to sing as much and loud as possible.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are welcome to suggest a song or present other wishes. Raise your hand and ask in the manner presented by the toastmasters.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After every song, toast your neighbours. The toastmasters will tell you the order in which this should be done.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Yelling and calling out to other tables is inappropriate and will lead to punishments.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No using phones except during the breaks. Remember to mute your phone.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No eating during a song, punishments or when someone else is speaking up.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clapping your hands is forbidden. Instead you should tap a table with your hand when you want to cheer for something.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When watching punishments, no cheering or laughing, you can boo or \u201chyi\u201d them instead.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Breaking the rules causes playful punishments decided by the toastmasters. The punishments can be anything from silly competitions to completing a task in front of everyone. Therefore following the rules is utterly important&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you see someone breaking the rules, remember to tell the toastmasters.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Despite a long list of rules, ENJOY!&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>All in all, be a considerate guest, drink enough water, sing along and have fun.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is the responsibility of all of us to make sure we build a safe and fun night.
